The Catholic Medical Guild of St. Luke, Bombay is proud to announce: The St. Luke's Medical Ball and Oration A Fundraiser for the Society for the Home for the Aged, Little Sisters of the Poor, Andheri (E) The Ball, a long-standing Guild tradition comes to you once again this February. This year, our cause is the Society for the Home for the Aged in Andheri East, run by the Little Sisters of the Poor. The
Home takes care of its resident free of cost and irrespective of caste,
creed or religion. They have no source of income expect for donations.
Their noble cause is very dear to our hearts and hence we have chosen to
hold the 2012 Medical Ball as a fund-raiser for them. Another
major event on the Guild calender is the annual medical
Oration/Conference. We have decided to tie these two events together
this year. We have 3 sessions and very eminent speakers and
chairpersons. The speakers include Dr. Eric Borges and Dr. R. P. Soonawala. The Chairpersons include Dr. Deven Parmar, Dr. Suresh Joshi, Dr. Joseph Britto and Dr. Khoulsum Hussein. The
evening will begin with the Oration. This will be followed by a wine
appreciation, where an oenologist and sommelier will help us discover
some really special wines. Finally, the Ball will commence after the wine appreciation. This year, we will be having a grand raffle, for which tickets go on sale tomorrow. The prizes are as follows: 1st - A all-expenses-paid Mediterranean Cruise for a couple, courtesy of MSC Cruises, on board one of their luxury cruise liners 2nd - A 2 night, 3 day stay at the Fortune Hotel, Goa 3rd - One free return international Air-Ticket with Jet Airways The cost of a raffle ticket is Rs. 500/-. There is no limit to the number of tickets you may buy. We will also be having a lucky draw for the Event Souvenirs that are being sold on the night of the Ball. The prize is a luxury watch wroth Rs. 18,000/-, courtesy of Victorinox. The price of a Souvenir is Rs. 100/- There will also be many games with fun prizes, including several spot prizes and "Guess the weight of the cake". Of course, fixtures of the Ball are the main dance events. As ever, there is the Waltz and the Rock-n-Roll. This year there will be the Cha-Cha and many more. We will also be having the 2 fun novelty dances. Please bring your singing voices: we will also be having a "Sing-off" and "Sing along". Tickets for the event are fast selling.
